Your Recovery Journey Starts Here

Recovery is possible, and you don't have to do it alone. Follow these steps to build a strong foundation for lasting recovery.

1
Reach Out—Find a Meeting

Connect with others who understand your journey. Join AA, NA, CA, CMA, SMART Recovery, Celebrate Recovery, or other fellowship meetings in your area. These groups provide a safe space to share, learn, and find hope.

2
Build Connection—Don't Go It Alone

Recovery thrives in connection. Exchange phone numbers with people in meetings, find a sponsor or mentor, and build a support network. Having people to call when things get tough can make all the difference.

Connection Tips:
  • • Ask someone to be your sponsor or temporary sponsor
  • • Exchange numbers with at least 3-5 people from meetings
  • • Attend the same meetings regularly to build relationships
  • • Show up early and stay after to connect with others

3
Daily Action—Show Up and Use the Tools

Recovery is a daily practice. Show up to meetings consistently, share honestly about your struggles and successes, and actively use the tools and principles of your chosen program. Small daily actions build lasting change.

Daily Practice Ideas:
  • • Attend meetings regularly (aim for 90 meetings in 90 days if starting)
  • • Practice daily meditation, prayer, or reflection
  • • Work the steps with your sponsor
  • • Read recovery literature daily
  • • Make daily contact with someone in recovery
